As a performance tester, you must have a basic knowledge of servers and services like how to start/stop the Oracle WebLogic Server. This article will help you to get a step-by-step understanding of the process.
How to stop the Weblogic Server?
Step 1: Browse the Oracle Weblogic Server Console. It would be best to have the environment’s console URL handy.

Step 2: Log in to the console using valid credentials. You will see the dashboard.
Step 3: Click the ‘Lock & Edit’ button
Step 4: By the way, you can directly see the list of server nodes after login to the console. In case you do not see then go to the ‘Domain Structure’ pane on the left side and click on ‘Environment’ -> ‘Servers’
Step 5: All the nodes will appear. Now, click on the ‘Control’ tab
Step 6: Select the nodes to stop by marking them (except the Admin node).
Step 7: Click on the ‘Shutdown’ dropdown and select ‘When work completes’ or ‘Force shutdown now’. You can select the ‘Force shutdown now’ option if no one is using the environment.
Step 8: Click ‘Yes’ in the next step.
Step 9: You will see below status. The state of servers will be ‘FORCE_SUSPENDING’.
Step 10: And, the final status when all the nodes are shut down is:
Step 11: Release the configuration that you locked in Step 3.
How to start the Weblogic Server?
Follow the same steps as mentioned above from Step 1 to Step 5.
Step 6: Select the ‘Shutdown’ nodes to start them. Click the ‘Start’ button, available in the left corner.
Step 7: Click ‘Yes’
Step 8: You will see below status. The state of servers will be ‘STARTING’.
Step 9: And, the final status when all the nodes are up is:
Step 10: Release the configuration that you locked in Step 3.
